History

In-Gear opened in 1995. Owner Pete Roberts was an apprenticed Mechanical Engineering Technician spending the next 20 years working in engineering, including 5 years as an instructor teaching engineering.

Wheelbuilding skills were learned by the infamous Ken Bird, a former tour mechanic. Pete gained pro team mechanic experience himself, with the Linda McCartney Team.

Pete has been a lifelong cyclist, riding road races and time trials before specializing in shorter time trials - and winning a few along the way ( usually when the good guys weren't about! ).
